On April 15, 2010 West End Legal Services hosted an Open
House with a Silent Auction to benefit Breast Cancer Action
Ottawa. Breast Cancer Action Ottawa is a local charitable
organization that provides information, support and education
to women and men diagnosed with breast cancer, their
families and the community.
We had a great turn out to our event with many members of
the community and local agencies in attendance. It was a
warm atmosphere with great conversation and good food. We
enjoyed the opportunity to show off the renovations to our
office, to show the office to people who had never visited us,
and to visit with our community partners. It was also a great
way to celebrate Law Day by allowing our community to learn
more about our office and our services.
As a result of our generous donors, there were a wide variety
of silent auction items on which to bid and friendly bidding
competitions developed on a number of highly sought after
items. Also, thanks to our donors, we were able to end the
evening by awarding three fantastic door prizes to our guests.
The event was a big success, raising slightly over $2400 for
Breast Cancer Action Ottawa!
We want to thank everyone who came out to support our
event. A big thank you goes out to all of our sponsors and
contributors, including:
